This interdisciplinary minor permits students to study health-related issues at both the population and community level. Students in public health develop a greater understanding of the various factors affecting population health in local, regional, and global perspective. Three foundational core courses provide a common language and methodology for understanding the key issues and controversies in public health, while elective courses permit exposure to a variety of disciplinary perspectives which contribute to public health practice and problem-solving. Students completing the Public Health Minor will be well-positioned to pursue graduate-level study in public health, medicine, law, social work, or other professional disciplines. All undergraduates are eligible to participate in the Public Health Minor, regardless of their major discipline.
